I just titled this blog after the song by Paramore.

Anyways... That is actually what I wanted to blog about. I have that song on repeat and it got me to realize that I have not been down on earth lately. The song talks about how you need to come back to reality and stop dreaming up schemes and "fairy tales". I've been spending my time thinking of what could be and not actually doing anything. It's sad that I had to listen to a song by Paramore to figure that out.

"Keep your feet on the ground while your head's in the clouds. Go get your shovel, and we'll dig a deep hole to bury the castle."

Kori

P.S. Sorry for lack of updates. I'll try to change that. And I'm also sorry that this one is short. I was just having a random thought.

P.P.S. But it has given me time to think. For those of you who don't know, I just came back to my religion this summer after 8 years. This past week I have really seen God's work. I have never really took the time to notice but now that I have, I am truly amazed. This past weekend, I was sitting in the hospital, waiting to hear news of me having to get surgery. The doctor, instead, came in and told me I was lucky. From that moment to now, I have slowly learned how to walk again. The doctors said I shouldn't be walking on my own for another 2 weeks and it is only 5 days later. I have seen his work through the people who have helped me in the smallest ways. Whether it be opening the door or grabbing a book. I have never looked to see how good I really have it until now. I was put on those crutches at a time where I really need to open my eyes and I thank God everyday for giving me that opportunity to see.

Kori

I-Rival

if u havn't heard of this band, head on over to their myspace and check them out! You have to keep updated and update every site you have, having a myspace layout that is appealing to the eye, promoting your site, answering people's questions and still having a personal life. The stress can come and bite you butt like it did to me last night. I only argue when I'm stressed out and last night I argued with one of my friends over something stupid.

But in the end I can say that running a fansite has it's advantages. You get to meet new people, you learn that you aren't the only facing the fansite stress and that there is always someone out there that wants to help you. That took me a while to figure out but once I did, it made me feel like I wasn't trapped in the corner.

Just remember that someone is always out there that wants to help you no matter what it is.

Kori

Breathe Carolina

This band is amazing! BC has just released their sophmore album "Hello Fascination." They added some simple guitar riffs and a some drums which really matured their music from their freshman release "It's Classy not Classic." However, most of the lyrics are farily immature, but some, such as Rescue, have amazing lyrics.

I really suggest checking them out. However, if u don't like profanity in your music then you should probably skip "i'm the kind of person to take it personal" and "I.D.G.A.F"

-Megan

modlife moments part 1

alright so the majority of TKK readers don't have a premium account to modlife soooooo, every once in awhile i'll take a screen pic of some of the funny momments that happen on modcam. hopefully after seeing some of these u guys will upgrade ur account and join the fun!

for the first of these funny moments blogs i'll leave u with this:

^^^crouton is showing off his new hair cut and somebody asked Chap to smile....that is what he did. :p

-Megan

Legacy

alright everyone. What I'm about to type is something that's been on my heart for a while. I'm hoping that at least one person out there will agree with me on this matter. If not, oh well.

One thing I absolutely cannot stand is when people say these 3 words (or any variation of them): Christian music sucks. I’ll be the first to tell them that, yeah, some of it does. Actually, a lot of it does. That’s how you end up with the $2 rack at Christian bookstores, along with the “boring” stereotype. (I mean, we pretty much walked right into that one with the Gaithers...but hey, old people like music too). I’m also the first to (kindly) retort that most of it DOESN’T. If it all sucked, there would be no Underoath, Relient K, MXPX, Falling Up, Red, Thousand Foot Krutch, As I Lay Dying, Demon Hunter, Flyleaf, Five Iron Frenzy, and of course, Family Force 5 to name a minuscule few. Listen to any of their songs and then try to tell me Christian music sucks. In fact, most of the bands I just listed, if not all of them happen to be a heck of a lot more talented than those offered in typical mainstream markets. Suck on that Metro Station.

KIDDING...ha ha...ahem.

I’m not trying to say that "mainstream" music sucks either, my point was just that "Christian music" doesn't get the credit that's due. I was also leading up to my main point. Trust me, there is one.

Another thing I can’t stand (or understand, for that matter) is when CHRISTIANS THEMSELVES bash Christian bands (mostly adults). They’re loud, or they have tattoos, or they’re screamo or metal or punk or any form of rock, really. Does that make any sense at all? Uh...NO. The big excuse is that it’s “devil’s music.” Interesting, show me where it says that in the Bible.

That’s what I thought. Maybe you should try reading it one time. It's a good read, true story.

Oh, and you know the ones that say, "we're Christians in a band, but not a Christian band" ? That's just a really good tactic to AVOID bull from fellow Christians. Although I don't really think that's a necessary thing to do, because face it, that's kind of like saying, "this is my collection of shoes, but it's not a shoe collection," I can't say I blame them. That's how ridiculous it can get. The label of "Christian music" is a two-faced...dumb thing. But that's another rant for another time.

And then there are people who are rooting for those bands, who say that bands such as FF5, are “pushing the envelope in Christian music,” which quite confuses me. Envelope? Didn’t Stryper already push that envelope back in the 80’s? Envelope pushing should be old news by now, right?

Wrong, and here’s why: Stereotypes. They’ve been there forever, so why stop now? People are still too ignorant to see that music is music, mainstream or not. Good is good, bad is bad, and talent is talent.

Family Force 5 has immense talent. They produce awesome music and treat us to amazing live shows. But sadly, they have endured stupidity in the past and will have to continue to endure it for a long, long time. They don’t deserve it, but hey, no one does. So far, it hasn’t stopped them from being themselves and standing out as one of the best, and I doubt it ever will.

Soul Glow, Fatty, Chapstique, Nadaddy, and Crouton, I am behind you 100%. Think about this though: What if there are actually no guidelines for beauty at all? What if everything is beautiful, and some people are too ignorant to see it?

It's not only humans and little furry animals that are be subjected to scrutiny over whether they are deemed beautiful or not. However, most of the time, that's what it seems to be. When you open your eyes to the world around you, you may begin to notice little things that are beautiful, in their own, unique way. For example, next time you are out on a walk, take the time to really see what is flourishing in your area. It may be a spider, spinning its web in silence; it may be a group of friends relaxing together. Whatever it is. just make sure to recognize the real beauty of this world.

The same thing can be applied to music. A song that sounds like it is simply made of clashing sounds may actually be something beautiful. It all depends on how much you subject it to scrutiny. I found this video while aimlessly wandering around on YouTube. It is of people hitting various instruments one note at a time. At first, it does not seem like much, and may even sound slightly off. However, when you pay closer attention, you start to hear the underlying melody, and, eventually, a song is produced. It just takes a while and a little attention to hear it.

Just remember: Not everything needs to be subjected to scrutiny. Maybe, without it, more things in the world will be seen as the beautiful things they are.

Move Yourself When You Hear That Sound

-- DMK

PS Expect me back on the 30th

Songs On The Screen

As the summer progresses, and my friends go off to enjoy the weather in places that aren't in my vicinity, I find myself mindlessly scrolling through YouTube more and more. Which leads me to the point of this blog. I was watching the "Radiator" music video and I was absolutely transfixed. I couldn't peel my eyes away from the screen, even though I had seen it a few times before.

Maybe it was the air that FF5 carried with them in the video. Having seen them live, I know that they are always like this when performing, and it made watching the video even more enjoyable. They move around and play their own instruments with such energy, it made me want to get up and dance along with them (more than the song makes me want to already). Even in their confined spaces, marked out on the floor in fluorescent lines, it seemed like the guys were all over the place. This may have been due to the fact that the filming was quite shaky, but it matched the tone of the song. The costumes are great too, and the tube lighting and bright colours matched also.

If only every music video ever filmed were to be like this, not only from Family Force 5, but from all bands. Of course, not every music video can have five crazy guys dancing around with neon lights and slick costumes. But, for some musicians and groups, they need to bring a little bit more energy for me to really be hooked by their video. Even if the musical style isn't crunk-rock, or even rock, for that matter, a music video is about showing the mood of the song visually. When musicians play their songs, they play them with energy, even the slowest of the slow. If that energy would be translated onto the screen, it would definitely make for a more enjoyable experience.

I, personally, am not a big watcher of music videos, but, if you happen to see a good one, send it my way. Of course, I will be watching for the "Dance or Die" video!

Move Yourself When You Hear That Sound
-- DMK

PS For the next four weeks I will be away, so posts may not be every week. You cant go through your life being a sheep, following your superiors around aimlessly. If you have questions, ask. Don't assume that because someone has a fancy title they are always right. Everyone has different interpretations of great works, especially the Bible. If something doesn't seem right, say it. But when great songs are written, you can be sure that they are chock-full of metaphors and “literary devices” from English class that you never thought you would actually use. But the beauty of a great song is that the words can be interpreted in many different ways, and relates to so many different people at the same time.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

When on a 1-week trip to my nation’s capital (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!), I got the chance to bond with students from all across Canada, representing east to west. It was only after I got home, though, and added all of my new friends on Facebook (the wonder social network) that I realized that I had more in common with them than I ever thought. I saw lyrics from some of my favorite bands (Family Force 5 included in that category, of course) popping up on their profiles. This is when it hit me: my understanding of these songs was only one version. There were so many other ways of listening to these songs!

Now, when I listen to all of the music in my library, I take care to snap out of my monotonous drone and actually listen to what’s being said. I am not religious, but my Christian friends do recommend a lot of music to me. So, that being said, when I listen to songs from Christian bands, I tend to take them a whole lot differently than some other people. What I really like in a song is its ability to be understood by more than just one group of people. For that reason, I think that many bands need to pay close attention to what their lyrics are, and will then begin to broadcast to a larger audience.

Remember, there is a difference between hearing and listening. What you take from the music should be your own interpretations.

Move Yourself When You Hear That Sound

-- DMK

Falling Up

week number two! this weeks artists is Falling Up. Let's Have A Dance Party!

There's a reason that fans come back to a live show. And keep coming back. And it's not just the array of bands opening, new talent that will be seen, or even the buzz of the atmosphere waiting for the music to start (although that is certainly part of it). However, the real reason that fans come to a show is for the show itself. I'm not just talking about the venue and the music. It goes beyond that. There's something special about going to a concert and hearing more than just what was on the record.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of seeing Family Force 5 live, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (at The Opera House), and let me tell you, they definitely brought it. Although what "it" is, I cannot define. "It" could be the ridiculous costumes of fishnet tank tops, and gold football shoulder pads with matching gold (and sparkly) shoes. Maybe "it" is the super hyped-up emotion that FF5 brings to the stage, even though, at the Opera House, the crowd couldn't have been more than just over a hundred people. Even with such a small crowd, the band acted as if they were playing a huge venue, which convinced me that they were genuinely pleased to be here. Or, "it" could be there pleasant attitude towards us pesky Canadians, politely signing autographs and posing for pictures before and after the show.

I had heard from friends and various reviews that Family Force 5 brings a great stage show as well as music, making concert-goers remember their shows as one of the best. However, up until I saw them, I had always thought that these remarks were large exaggerations. Let me tell you, even for a tiny stage, this concert was amazing. The great stage presence possessed by Soul Glow Activatur, Chap Stique, Crouton, Fatty, NaDaddy and Xanadu made me want to stay there all night long! There was tons of energy shown on stage, and it translated into the crowd. This will definitely be a concert that I will remember for a long time.

If there’s one show that you are going to see this year, Family Force 5 is it. Also, near the bottom, it looks as if they (they being Transparent Media - SGA's record label) are looking to sign artists. DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT THOUGH!

ENJOY!
~The Radiators
theradiators.blogspot.com

There’s a delicate balance between the intertwining worlds of artistry, entertainment and humor, but for dance-derived alternative rockers Family Force 5, it’s an ecstatic equilibrium that remarkably illustrates all three elements. With tongue firmly planted in cheek, the Atlanta-based five-some are just as likely to get the party started as they are to escort audiences into an alternate reality. Even so, the band never compromises album creativity, while simultaneously hearkening back to the days of massive spectacles on tour.

The group’s sophomore release, Dance Or Die, oozes with over-the-top illustrations, charging out of the gate with funky rhythms, percolating club grooves, undeniably infectious hooks and instantaneous sing-a-longs. Imagine an inventive evolution of the band’s eye-opening debut, Business Up Front, Party in the Back, blended with Prince getting down at a Daft Punk concert where Michael Jackson busts out the moonwalk in the center of the dance floor.

“Listening to Family Force 5 is like lighting a cluster of firecrackers in your mouth,” offers guitarist Derek Mount (known to fans as Chap Stique), recommending a spin of Dance Or Die over that daredevil antic. “This album provides a connection and an escape, and it's guaranteed to make your booty shake and your head bang. It's greasy, slimy and soupy, yet still very slick and shiny at the same time.”

Indeed, the disc is replete with rippling rhythms, assaulting electronics and a raucous rock ‘n roll underpinning, but beyond these sonic elements, there’s also an all-encompassing futuristic vibe. From the sci-fi synth textures of “Fever” to the thrash-tinged robotic rocker “Radiator” to the ultra contagious title track, consider this project to be the musical version of Mad Max meets 2001: A Space Odyssey.

“The last record was a straight-up party, but we always said the second would be sweaty rock n’ roll music,” stresses front-man/guitarist Solomon Olds (Soul Glow Activatur), who co-produced the project with Joe Baldridge (Beck, Jewel). “The album title and imagery transport the listener into a dire life-or-death situation. Each song unites that urgency with a danceable beat, so get to steppin,' or you'll
be extinct.”

Since its release in summer of 2008, fans have been clamoring to catch those very sentiments in concert, swarming the band’s explosive appearances throughout the Vans Warped Tour and also on two legs of the group’s own Dance Rawr Dance Tour. “We encourage fans to dress up in costumes, whether it be a killer whale, a big chicken or a Skeletor outfit,“ urges Chap Stique. “Family Force 5 realizes that most people think rock n’ roll is about trying to be cool, but to us, there’s nothing cooler than when people let go and end up stealing the show by break dancing in helmets or body-slamming each other in Lucha Libre masks.”

Placing their lives and relationships at risk, the members have committed themselves to an arduous touring schedule, averaging 250 to 300 days on the road per year. Thus far 2009 has seen the group jam packing a showcase at 2009’s coveted SxSW Festival, followed by an extensive headlining run on the Alternative Press Tour alongside breakout bands 3OH!3, The Maine, Hit The Lights and A Rocket To The Moon. In addition to members taking the stage wearing the trashiest old school tuxedo garb they could find, expect to see the Family Force 5000, a massive drum machine they personally invented that, at first glance, looks more like the next NASA launch computer than it does a musical instrument.

“It is the only fully-functional giant drum machine in the universe. It's a six-and-a-half-foot tall, 760-pound juggernaut of pads, knobs, and switches that inhales electricity and exhales lightning,” announces Soul Glow Activatur. “The Family Force 5000 started as a joke three years ago. Then we mentioned it to a friend, who happens to be a wizard in electronics, and he was able to bring our sci-fi idea to life. The fact that we have a huge, light-up, chunky machine on stage is pretty cool, and it adds to
the robotic rock element of this season.”

Outside of their industrial explorations, members continue offering fans content in a variety of entertainment mediums as an additional means of appreciation for listeners’ unwavering support. Take, for instance, the steady stream of audio blogs, recently issued as the iTunes compilation Blingin’ Blogs Volume 1 (which finds the players offering a series of ghetto shout-outs and poking fun at pirates, to name a few). There’s also the ever-expanding online collection of The Really Real Show, a Spinal Tap-esque video library of stories from the road, spanning a broad comedic spectrum from bus brawls to single men's support groups.

Buzz is also building for the band’s first ever remix project, which is slated to hit streets May 19 under the appropriate banner Dance or Die With a Vengeance (on Transparent Media Group with EMI distribution). Outside of the Family Force 5 guys twirling the knobs, contributors include members of Cobra Starship, 3OH!3, Relient K, The Pragmatic and French remix sensation The Toxic Avenger.

“In hindsight, a lot of the songs from Dance or Die almost seem like they were made to be remixed,” explains Soul Glow Activatur. “We asked a lot of friends we’ve toured with and just wanted to call it something that sounds really cool like it could be a Bruce Willis flick. For some reason, the dance culture and the whole electro theme has really blown up in the alternative scene and we want to be forerunners to help bring it on. We’re excited to open up a whole new world to alternative kids used to the punkier versions of any of these songs and give them a chance to hear versions that are all the way dancey.”

But wait, there’s more coming from the Family Force 5 camp before 2009 is over! The guys have already let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the gang’s inaugural holiday offering The Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant (also on Transparent Media Group). The killer collection will feature choice covers of everything from the classic “Carol of the Bells” to Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” to “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music, all reworked as completely re-imagined dance-derived rock renderings.

“We’ve always been really skeptical of a Christmas project because we’re not really fans of them in general, but I have to say it’s absolutely the most fun we’ve ever had recording,” continues Soul Glow Activatur. “We’ve seriously been banging on pots and pans doing the most ghetto-tech style of a Christmas album ever. But we’ve played it for a bunch of friends and they’ve told us they wouldn’t normally buy a Christmas album, but this literally feels like a dance party instead of the same old way Christmas songs have been done for the last 75 years.”

The plethora of prominent projects comes as a result of both the band’s unceasing imagination and its formation of the aforementioned Transparent Media Group, which works directly with the group’s longtime partner Chris Woltman of Element1 Music, Marketing & Management. Together, the behind the scenes forces offer all the most important components of a major record label (from new media to publicity to community development and viral campaigning), but is rooted in Family Force 5’s artistic ideals and desire for its most direct interaction with fans to date.

“When we had the initial conversation a year ago to start a label, bands like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails proved it could be done and they could reach their audiences closer than ever before,” says Chris Woltman of Element1 Music, Marketing & Management / Transparent Media Group (who also has a dozen years of experience at Columbia Records and another four at RCA). “Now we’re able to speak to fans in an original and quick manner and we’re fortunate to have a group of guys who are insanely creative and who’s well never runs dry…It’s also been pretty amazing to watch a band that’s literally sold over 200,000 records and perhaps triple that if you add in ring tones and digital downloads, build a brand without the traditional media drivers, such as radio, that the major label system was built on.”

And just for the record, Family Force 5 and Transparent Media Group are officially on the lookout for top talent hoping to think outside the box across both the front lines and behind the scenes. “We have a greater desire to find other bands that are consistent with the DNA and ethos of the FF5 camp,” adds Woltman. “Somebody can write an amazing song, but if they can’t connect with fans and they’re not willing to put in hard work across the entire spectrum, they’re gonna fall short. We’re going to be looking for artists with the same work ethic and dedicated approach the guys have, which is now approaching 600 shows in the last four years. That’s real dedication and real sacrifice!”

In fact, the band is already plotting past the AP Tour, staring with a third installment of Dance Rawr Dance, plus some spot dates with Flyleaf, and of course, a holiday run of celebratory proportions. But no matter what season of the band’s do-it-yourself paradigm, perhaps Family Force 5000 player/keyboardist Nathan Currin (Nadaddy) best summarizes this diversified entertainment enterprise’s quest for intergalactic conquest. “Family Force 5 is an unconventional arsenal of ultimate dance floor anthems,” he declares. “We're at war. Dancing is our weapon, and our party is ready to pull the trigger.

Bid You All Adieu...

I think it's safe to say that being here was nice while it lasted...but I have something I have to do for myself because writing is important to me and I want to make something of this. The first being "Take me anywhere (wherever your going)". I feel that, as Christians, we cry out to God telling him to "take me anywhere" but when He puts a calling on our hearts we turn away, too scared to do anything. For me, I was/am "called" to be a missionary in either India or Africa, maybe both. For 3 years a ran from this. I didn't want to be a missionary. I wanted to be rich. It wasn't until recently i learned that God has called me to do this, and only I can touch that one persons life their. If i run, who will step up.

I feel that this applies to everyone. Not everyone is called to be a missionary, but God puts everyone in situations that will benefit those around them, it all just depends on your attitude. Only you can touch that person on your school campus.

The other lyric that stood out was "robots keep rising, while the rest of us keep writhing." This, to me, was a call for action. I know i've already said this in a previous blog, but it is time for everyone, not just Christians, to stand up for what they believe. Stop being swayed by others opinions. Do research on what you believe so when someone asks you why, you can tell them. Stop being "spoonfed" everything, because one day those that you lean on wont be there anymore (leaving for college, moving, etc.).

Be Radiators,
Megan

Really Real blog #1

So, if you didn't know, Family Force 5 happens to be hilarious.

the end.

But really, these boys are CRAZY FUNNY! The woman who fortunately raised our favorite band' o brothers!

Funny subtle points: -Right at the 0:08 mark, Chappy yells out "Noogie!", it's hilarious.

-at 1:11 Crouton sighs the funniest sigh I've ever heard, I crack up every time I hear it!

- at 1:30 Crouton attepts to close the door and it hits Souol Glow, you can here Tubo go "OH!"

- 2:38 Fattys phone goes off, the ring is "When the saints go marching in" haha!

- from 4:35- 4:37, Crouton falls, it's hilarious!

- 5:25 you can hear foot steps, by that you can tell Nadaddy isn't really doing pullups, whoch makes trhe fall at 5:54 even funnier!

- at 6:18 someone comes out of a room, and notices the camera, feels bad and goes back into the room so he doesn't mess up the shot!

- at 6:39 Crouton smells a shoe, not SUBTLE, but funny!

Famous RRS1 quotes: - Crouton: What are we doing, talking about the band or somethin? I can truly say that I'm happy for them because they deserve all the notoriety that they can get.

Even during the rising of fame, they still go to God which cometh our help because He's the only one who can take them farther than they already are. With their new CD "Dance Or Die" they have experimented with more of the rave-like, dance sound and being less clubby. They still hold true to their crunk beginnings with songs like "Get Your Back Off The Wall", but even that isn't as club as the songs from their debut album "Business Up Front/Party In The Back". As people may not understand, FF5 is a band who likes many types of music...so they mix elements of hip hop, 80s metal, alternative and many more but with utmost positive lyrics. By going mainstream like another Christian band called dc Talk doesn't deter their faith, it only makes them stronger. So if anyone says it's impossible to be in the mainstream and be a Christian band tell them to listen to a little Family Force 5, dc Talk, Relient K, and some Switchfoot. That right there will prove them wrong.

I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it,

Frankie Moore Static

LIVELAVALIVE FOREVER.

Ever since Imoved to Germany, I got really into youtube videos. I watched a pluthera of videos from SxE Phil to RhettandLink (both REALLY good, btw.) But one day, I heard from a friend about LIVELAVALIVE. It was really hard living in Germany because I was just SO bored, I needed some good' ol American randomness-and this guy was it.

Ohio Native Mitchell Davis creates videos with crazy randomness. He is over the top, and way crazy! I couldn't help but to keep watching.

Mitchell is sometimes joined by his best buddy Kyle, and whenever they get together in a video it's a non-stop laugh fest from beggining to end.

Mitchell Davis is more than crazy and hilarious, this man is a real artist. He is such a talented photographor and filmmaker, it could outshine his famous youtube career.

No matter what Mitchell does with his life, I have a feeling we will always hear about him and his talent. Daft Punk is made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuelb de Homem-Christo, both from France. They met in school, and have gone on to bigger and better things.

Daft Punk albums (Homework, Discovery, and Human After All being the prominent full-lengths) are full of a distinct digital sound, and often are based on a concept. The album Human After All is a prime example, being the tale of a robot's discovery that it is in fact a human. DP also emphasizes instrumentals in their work just as often as tracks with vocals, giving a DP album a soundtrack feel.

Little known fact: Many (if not all) DP tracks are HEAVY on sampling. For an example, check out Edwin Birdsong's track, "Cola Bottle Baby," then check out Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger."

Daft Punk have also had a hand in producing films, the largest of which was their 2008 release, Electroma, which follows the two members of Daft Punk on their journey to break from the monotony of life. Though not a giant success, it has gone to be a favorite of fans everywhere.

In 2010, Daft Punk will also be composing the entire score for the sequel to Tron. This is their first score, and looks to be VERY promising, based on the parallels between Daft Punk and Tron.

Daft Punk have been IMMENSELY influential, inspiring artists such as Kanye West, who not only sampled from them on his hit, "Stronger," but also played with them live on the 2008 Grammys, Daft Punk's ONLY TV appearance where they've been playing. Another major inspiration? DANCE OR DIE.

Check 'em out, they're amazing.

You think you know FF5

just some random facts about the boys we all know and love.

ChapStique: His favorite star wars movie is Return of the Jedi, He thinks Fanny Packs are "incredible", thinks Little Man was the worst movie ever made, and Milo and Otis was the best.

NaDaddy: Favorite dance move is the Running Man, favorite song from DOD is Radiator, spent hours playing "chip and dale's rescue rangers" on Nintendo, If there was a movie made about FF5 he would want Edward Norton to play him.

Crouton: used to be a hair dresser, "Drama Queen" was written about his old boss, he is in Heaven when he is dancing, he won 2nd place in a dance off at Warped Tour(lost to Katy Perry).

Fatty: had a wood working shop, lives with his parents, has a plate collection which is one of the inspirations for "Kountry Gentlemen"

Soul Glow Activatur: if an FF5 song was on Guitar Hero he would want it to be "Love Addict" or "Replace Me", Favorite breakfast cereal is Honey Bunches of Oats, favorite place to eat food on is "the living room chair", his favorite colour is purple.

Lastly, if your an FF5 fan you have probably heard the word "yuns" thrown around a little bit, mostly by NaDaddy and Crouton. The word came from a man working at a gas station. After looking inside FF5's old Van he stated "yuns is packed in their like a bunch of sardines." NaDaddy and Crouts loved it so much they started using it...and then the fans picked it up.

Love "Yuns",
Megan

To be a Radiator just like you...

Alot of people have known about FF5 for four of five years now, They (or should I say "we") have been with The Fam since they were known as he Phamily, Ground Noise, or even as The Brothers! It's easy to say that once a fan of Family Force 5, always a fan.

But, for the baby vinners, you first stumbled across Family Force 5 after being trapled on at Wapred tour, and you landed by their stage, or went to go watch 3OH!3 at the AP Tour and noticed the awesome talent from FF5.

Did you notice at the AP Tour, that most of the bands where cussing and flipping people off? Of course, this was meant to be funny, and being in High School or College, you are also used to it or even say these words. But, if you reeeally paid attention, never, not ONCE did Family Force 5 cuss. Why is that? What's the deal?

Many people who know Family Force 5 from these tours don't know this reason. Well, Family Force 5 is Christian! Yup, They are down with Jesus! They aren't neccesarily a Christian Band, but they are as close as you can get!

FF5 is double signed with one secular record company, and another with Tooth and Nail Productions, on oif the best Christian record companies out there.

FF5 is very popular with Christians, but Chap Stique says- "We heard this quote one time, and it said 'Christitianity is a beautiful noun, but is no a good adjective.'" The boys think if they are labeled as a Christian band, they couldn't reach out to everyone. They'd rather be known as A band who is Christian.

If you don't believe this, well, just look at these songs!

D-I-E 4 Y-O-U
Face Down
Get Your Back Off the Wall
I Love You to Death
Luv Addict
Never Let Me Go
Supersonic
Wake The Dead,
and yes, even Radiator!

None of these songs say God's name, or Jesus, but trust me, they are definetly glorifin' the Lawd!
Chap Stique once said in an interview "Jesus used to speak in enigmatic parables, we as a band feel that it's important to keep that alive in our songs".

Here are some cool FF5 interviews I found!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFDAIKVKdso
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEtRJOPEQzQ&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unjm2x7vD_c&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGI_lV--3_g&feature=related

Stay Fly with Yo' Black Hair Dye,

Alyssa Brite

Making Music A Ministry

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; That band would be Fireflight. You may recall the Scars Remain Tour that FF5 and Fireflight were both on. Musically, Fireflight is a little different than FF5, but spiritually, they both are on the same page. I am constantly searching for bands that have music that edifies what they say they believe and bands that show a true passion for their music to become a ministry instead of having the whole “rock star” image. That is what Fireflight does. I have had the opportunity to see them twice and both times they were at my church. During their live show, they are amazing!!! Rockin out like there is no tomorrow. One thing, that stands out about Fireflight, is the fact that at every show, they read the bible and take the time to make it known that they are there to glorify God and not themselves. If you go to a Fireflight concert, you will get to see them after the show and before the show if your lucky. They are always nice to you and very down to earth. When they have come to my church, I have had the opportunity of helping them set up the stage, merch booth, etc. and they act the same way when no one is around. Fireflight is a group who truly have a passion to reach souls and to throw a party at the same time. So if you get a chance, go see them. Or pick up their newest CD “Unbreakable.” You won’t regret it.

~Fitchfoot

theradiators.blogspot.com

Get GodCentered, Yo!

As we all know, it's hard to get into the music business. Some move to Hollywood, and for those who want to use their God given talents to praise the a Lord, The go to Tennesse. Other than friends, it's hard to tell a lot of people about an upcoming album you're putting out, or if you are headling a show. That's where a little company from Virginia Beach comes in. GodCentered Productions is a networking, production, and promotions company. As a new company, they are looking for new people to support!

They will also help others who's talents aren't music oriented. For the artists, GC P will hook you up with a band looking for artists who need cover art for a new album, and for anyone who teaches the art of dance, they will help you find people willing to learn dance! They can help you with promotional services and make sure your art will be known.

Next Summer, GC P might even start a music festival in Virginia Beach, VA. Much about this festival is on the DL, all we can say is if a headlining band is who GC P is talking to right now, this festival will be HUGE and you will NOT want to miss it!

If you are interested, the dedicated website is http://godcenteredproductions.com . or stalk, (um..er..."follow") them on Twitter at http://twitter.com/GodCenteredPro . Alexithymia by Anberin. In the song Stephen repeatedly sings "there's more to living than being alive." These lyrics really seemed to pop out at me today. There are so many times when i would walk on to my high school campus and see walking corpses. These people are obsessed with drugs/drinking/gossip/sex/etc. They never venture outside of their social norm and never truelly experience what it is like to live. They choose to party every weekend only to wake up not remembering what happened. It is an endless cycle of abuse that will eventually take them captive. Instead of choosing to drink, it will be a necessity. I have seen this happen too many times.

Those of us who know what it is like to live, and not just be alive, must start showing it. If not were just as guilty as the corpses among us. Don't be afraid to travel outside of your social groups. Make new friends. Experience life.

Ghost Ride the What?!?!

How's it hangin' denizens of this fabulous virtual world called "The Kountry Klub"?

As you all may know, Family Force 5 recently came out with an album on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 called Dance or Die with a Vengeance, but for the sake of saving my poor fingers from writing that repeatidly, let's call it DODW/AV. On the album, there is a brand new song called "Ghost Ride The Whip" For those of you who were (and still are!) fans of Business Up Front, Party in the Back; you will recognize the ghetto krunkness of Family Force 5 as they venture into the Hip Hop world scene for this song. But how did this song come to be? How did they decide to sing a song about ghostridin'? What is ghostriding anyway, and what the HECK is a whip?! What does this song EVEN mean?

Most OG FF5 fans know how straight thuggin' these 5 rowdy rapscallians can be, the Atlanta natives have been influenced by the Hip Hop scene for years. During the making of DODW/AV, the boys started making a beat, but one problem; they didn't have a topic to rap about! The had no idea what subject would partake in this song. But before the song was written, a man came up to them and said:

"Man, you guys seem like you ghost ride the whip! Do you ghost ride the whip?"

At first, the boys were confused as could be! They had no idea what "ghostriding" was, in fact, they took it at an insult at first! FF5 relied on Urbandictionary.com and figured it all out.

According to Urban dictionry, the definition is:

1. Originated in the YAY area (Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, etc.) it mean for a driver to get out of the car, or whip, and start ... walking along side of it or jumping on the hood, rear, or hood. It looks like a ghost is riding in the drivers seat of the whip.

2. To dance next to or on the top of your hood while the car is still moving. ideally with many friends and Hip Hop Music.

Fmaily Force 5 laughs about this topic because to them, ghostriding sounds silly. They don't recomend you do it, as Soul Glow sings in the song "Gon' gitchya self killed if ya don' do it right" . It isn't worth the harm it could do, and they advise you take this song as more fun than serious, as the boys don't actually ghostride themselves. They decided to write about it because it was hilarious and and ridiculous, and with songs outr like "Kountry Gentleman" and "Drama Queen", we know how much these boys love to write ridiculously funny songs.

Also, many fans have been coming out saying ridiculous things like the song has a couple sexual conotations to it. I can ASSURE you, this song in no way has any sexual meaning to it. The two Olds' brothers are both HAPPILY married, and respect their wives enough to keep the personal relationships between their wives, well, personal.

As the most gangsta song the Fam has ever written, we can't wait to hear what else the boys can come up with.

Stay Fly with Yo' Black Hair Dye,
Alyssa Brite.

The Beginning...

Wassup, you Force Punks? This is Jackozord, the crazy dude behind the cultural phenomenon known as POW Blogs. (Ok, maybe it's no phenomenon...) I've created this site to function as a home for all Family Force 5 fans across the globe. I believe that there are some great sites out there, but there's something missing, right?

Well, I don't mean to be condescending (so please don't take it that way), but I think I've found it. All of the Family Force 5 fan sites are exclusive to Family Force 5 information. Though this is FANTASTIC for those looking at information concerning FF5, it may leave a lot of people out in the cold and become a little dull after awhile. Also, I've seen a few areas that look like paparazzi for the boys. I want no part of that.

So, here at the Kountry Klub, I'm envisioning a site where we not only discuss FF5, but we discuss anything their fans would like! So, instead of only having FF5 posts, I may post about Daft Punk, a major influence of the Dance or Die album. I just want new stuff for FF5 fans to discover.

Now, for the major change. Most FF5 sites around have one author. Yet, as the cliche states, "two heads are better than one." I'm going to take that route, but make it a little better. I'm thinking TEAM. Yeah, multiple individuals all dedicated to creating a site that someone can make their homepage, and never get bored when they load their browser.

So, I'm holding a competition! To ensure I get some great authors for this thing, the competitors will have to submit two articles/blog posts. The first will be about FF5, and the second will be about something having nothing to do with the boys that FF5 fans will enjoy. The articles will be judged by their creativity and entertainment value. After reviewing the submissions, I will determine the number of authors and who they are.

Please send the articles to: powblogs AT gmail DOT com

I hope you all think this is a good idea, and try for the author-ship! I can't wait to see what y'all cook up!

As always, Keep it Crunk.
